Following the recent news of MAGES.’ independence from Dwango and Kadokawa, MAGES. president Chiyomaru Shikura has gone on to tease further information about Occultic;Nine’s completion.

This conversation took place between Shikura and “pako,” the artist behind Occultic;Nine’s visual novel and light novels. The conversation, translated by us, reads as follows:
- “By the way, by buying out all of the MAGES. stocks I went broke in no time. If you run into me please give me a treat or something (・∀・)ノ”
- “I’m not sure if I should be congratulating you or worrying about you right now!”
- “Don’t worry, pako. Instead, come help me out with my new project. I love your art! And Occultic;Nine is almost done too ʕʘ‿ʘʔ”
Whether Shikura is referring to the fourth volume of the incomplete light novel series or the upcoming “Occultic;Nine: New World” visual novel patch/re-release remains to be seen. At the very least, this appears to confirm that MAGES.’ still intends to release further Occultic;Nine content.
In other news, it appears as though Chiyomaru Shikura and MAGES. may also be teasing a new Steins;Gate and/or unknown Science Adventure title.
Science Adventure producer Tatsuya Matsubara was interviewed by Siliconera earlier this year (Note: Steins;Gate spoilers within), wherein he stated that a new SciADV title is in development. An eagle-eyed fan has noted that Shikura has more to say regarding the future of the series, as seen in the Steins;Gate 0 Blu-Ray Limited Edition‘s Reference;Code β book.
According to Shikura, the idea of a crossover story connecting all Science Adventure stories has been considered, but is not in development yet. A Darling-esque spin-off for Steins;Gate 0 is also brought up, but is neither confirmed nor denied.
Ultimately, the most interesting takeaway from this interview is Shikura’s statement that a new title that “tie[s] in with the others” might be in the works, though whether it would only tie in with the Steins;Gate titles or if it would tie in with other Science Adventure titles as well is not made clear.
