Per the official website, the fourth Steins;Gate 10th anniversary project has been revealed: the digital ownership rights for various pieces of official Steins;Gate artwork are being sold via auction and lotteries to interested fans.
The digital ownership of each piece by its winner will be guaranteed by means of blockchain technology. Notably, this project is not restricted to Japanese audiences, and worldwide fans may participate.
The recently revealed 10th anniversary illustration (pictured above) will be sold via auction to its highest bidder. According to the website, the auction’s winner will receive the digital ownership rights to the piece and a framed, limited edition physical print of the artwork. Bidders are requested to only make offers of ¥150,000 or above (approximately $1,375 USD or €1,240).
All other pieces of artwork, which originate from various Steins;Gate games and promotional material, will be sold via lottery. The winner of each lottery will gain the digital ownership rights for their selected artwork for ¥40,000 (approximately $366 USD or €331). However, if the winner opts to pay for a framed, limited edition physical print of the artwork in addition to digital ownership rights, they will be charged ¥120,000 (approximately $1,100 USD or €993).
The entry period for the auction and all available lotteries is from November 5 at 10:00 PM JST to November 18 at 12:00 PM JST. The winners of each piece of artwork will be notified after November 25, 2019 via email.
For those who are looking for a chance to win a copy of the recently released Steins;Gate Elite iOS app, a giveaway campaign from the company behind this project has been launched on Twitter, and it will end on November 12, 2019 at 12 PM JST.
