A thematic sequel to Steins;Gate has been announced and is currently in the works. This news comes from an official MAGES. livestream wherein the company discussed their business strategies going forward.
Chiyomaru Shikura, the former president of MAGES., described the title’s relationship to Steins;Gate as being similar to Chaos;Child’s relationship to Chaos;Head. For context, Chaos;Child is the thematic sequel to Chaos;Head—the two titles share the same setting and various plot elements.
Shikura notes that the game was previously referred to as “Steins;God,” but that will not be the final title. At present, only the “Steins;” portion of the final title is known.
This title has been confirmed to be the ninth Steins;Gate 10th anniversary project, previously teased as an “earth-shattering bomb.”
The voice actors for Rintaro Okabe, Kurisu Makise, and Itaru Hashida were present on the stage when this information was announced. When they asked if their voices would be in the title, Shikura said that they would be, and Rintaro’s voice actor joked that it would just be for promotional material. It seems that the three voice actors do not necessarily know how involved they will be in the title, if they will have roles in it at all.
