The seventh Steins;Gate 10th anniversary project has been revealed: on Sunday, October 25, MAGES. will be hosting two livestreams—one will discuss how things are going with MAGES. from a business point of view, and the other will provide insight into the content of Steins;Gate and Anonymous;Code. The project is officially titled “Operation Hugin and Munin.”
This reveal differs from expectations: it was previously reported that project #7 would be a batch of free releases of Steins;Gate anime and manga, and project #8 would be these livestreams. However, it’s possible that MAGES. is addressing these projects in a different order than initially announced.
As mentioned above, the first livestream will involve a discussion of how things are going with MAGES. from a business point of view. This livestream will be their first big press release since they joined COLOPL, and they will be aiming to convey how they have been fitting in with and participating in the group. There will also be discussion about important MAGES. IPs, such as Steins;Gate and the upcoming Anonymous;Code.
Present on this livestream will be MAGES. CEO Chiyomaru Shikura, voice actors Mamoru Miyano (Rintaro Okabe, Steins;Gate), Tomokazu Seki (Itaru Hashida, Steins;Gate), Asami Imai (Kurisu Makise, Steins;Gate), Shiina Natsukawa (Momo Aizaki, Anonymous;Code), and Ayano Yamamoto (Bambi Kurashina, Anonymous;Code, and Nae Tennouji, Steins;Gate/Robotics;Notes).
This livestream will begin at 5:00 PM JST, and will be hosted on YouTube Live and Nico Nico Live Broadcasting.
The second livestream, as mentioned above, aims to provide insight into the content of Steins;Gate and Anonymous;Code—both of which delve into similar themes but differ greatly in their historical backdrop—as well as the puzzle that connects them. In addition, it will involve an update on actual development status, and other interesting topics regarding the two games. This livestream is dubbed “Operation Midgardsormr.” All of the guests from the previous livestream will reappear along with SciADV series producer Tatsuya Matsubara and the livestream’s MC, Tetsuya Yanagihara (from the comedy duo “America Zarigani”).
This livestream will begin at 7 PM JST, and will be hosted on YouTube Live and Nico Nico Live Broadcasting.
Finally, if previous reporting is to be believed, Chiyomaru Shikura is planning to reveal the ninth Steins;Gate 10th anniversary project at this event, which he has previously dubbed as an “earth-shattering bomb.” No additional details on this project have been provided yet, and what exactly it is remains to be seen.
